New Delhi: India’s Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) production has reached an all-time high of around 92 TMT per day in refineries, said Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on Friday.
Addressing a press conference in the national capital, Sharma said that the Government maintains adequate stocks of diesel, LPG, natural gas, and crude oil, with all refineries operating at optimum levels.
"The Government maintains adequate stocks of diesel, LPG, natural gas, and crude oil, with all refineries operating at optimum levels and LPG production at a record high of around 92 TMT per day," JS at the Petroleum Ministry said.
She further added that no LPG distributorship has reported a dry out.
"While some districts have witnessed unusually high sales of petrol and diesel due to agricultural demand and shifting market patterns, supplies remain stable," she added.
Further, Sharma stated that the State governments, Union Territories, and industry associations have been advised to prevent hoarding and black marketing, and consumers urged to procure fuel only through authorised channels.

She added that since March, over 8.3 lakh PNG connections have been activated and 8.5 lakh new consumers registered.
"In the last four days alone, 1.78 crore LPG refill bookings were received and about 1.8 crore cylinders delivered, with 96 percent deliveries authenticated digitally. Enforcement agencies and oil marketing companies have intensified inspections, resulting in fuel seizures, FIRs, arrests, and action against errant dealers and distributors, she updated.
According to her, the commercial LPG supplies remain robust, and natural gas supply has been restored to 99 percent for industrial and commercial consumers.
"The government has reiterated that fuel availability remains comfortable and there is no need for unnecessary stocking," she said.
On May 25, in her previous press conference, she had updated that about 40% of crude, 90% of LPG, and nearly 65% of India's natural gas imports have been affected amid the ongoing West Asia crisis.

However, Sharma added that the government is making every effort to ensure a smooth domestic supply of petroleum products.
"Refinery LPG production has been increased and is now reaching around 50,000 tonnes per day," she had stated.
She had added that about 7.99 lakh PNG connections have been gasified.
Notably, the OMCs have made four hikes in the price of petrol and diesel since May 15. The companies have also increased the price of compressed natural gas (CNG).
India is the world’s fourth largest refiner, with an installed capacity of 258.1 million tonnes per annum across 22 operational refineries.
Domestic consumption was 243.2 million tonnes in FY 2025-26; petroleum product exports were 61.5 million tonnes in the same year, making India one of the largest exporters of refined products globally. There is no supply issue of any kind, the Ministry added.
Ends.
