Srinagar/Jammu, June 1: The Jammu and Kashmir Transport Department has cancelled the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Licence issued to ANI Technologies Private Limited, the parent company of ride-hailing platform Ola.
The department has cited Ola's failure to operationalise its registered branch office in J&K.
According to an order issued by the Office of the Transport Commissioner, Jammu and Kashmir, the licence cancellation took effect immediately.
ANI Technologies had been granted Motor Vehicle Aggregator Licence on September 21, 2023.
The licence required the company to comply with all conditions laid down under Rule, including commencing operations within six months of the licence's issuance.

The company had registered its branch office at ABC Building, New Plot, Jammu, near Krishna Building (Looks Salon), while its registered office is located in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
However, the Transport Department said the Jammu branch office was never operationalised and the company failed to commence operations from the declared premises. During an inspection conducted by the Regional Transport Officer, Jammu, on December 13, 2024, the office was reportedly found to be non-functional and untraceable.
The order further stated that three show-cause notices and suspension notices were issued to the company on December 1, 2025, April 2, 2026, and April 30, 2026, seeking clarification regarding the status of its operations.
"No reply to these notices has been received by this office till date," the Transport Department noted in the cancellation order.
