New Delhi (India), June 5: Lebanon and Iran have demanded that the Israeli military withdraw fully from Lebanese territory and commit to a full ceasefire, as Israeli troops began a phased pullback from the country's south.

Cross border fire between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah persisted despite U.S. President's efforts to halt fighting there to forge peace with Tehran.

Hezbollah rejected a new ceasefire in Lebanon on June 4 and Israel said it would not withdraw troops from the country.
