Maharashtra BJP announces 17 Mahayuti candidates for Legislative Council polls

Mumbai (Maharashtra), June 4: Maharashtra BJP President Ravindra Chavan has announced the list of 17 official Mahayuti candidates for the Maharashtra Legislative Council elections scheduled for 18th of this month.

Addressing a joint press conference in Mumbai, Chavan expressed confidence that all 17 candidates of the BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP alliance would be elected.

He said the seat-sharing arrangement was finalised after consultations among Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and NCP leader Sunetra Pawar.

Chavan also appealed to rebel candidates to withdraw their nominations, saying the alliance would take a positive view of their concerns.

NCP state president Sunil Tatkare and Shiv Sena leader Rahul Shewale reiterated that all official Mahayuti candidates would emerge victorious in the elections.
