New Delhi: The Delhi Police have registered five First Information Reports (FIRs), with another case under process, in connection with the violence that erupted during the CJP protest march towards Parliament.
The cases have been lodged at Parliament Street, Connaught Place, and other police stations, invoking charges including unlawful assembly, assault on police personnel, obstruction of government work, criminal conspiracy, and damage to public property.
According to police officials, investigators are examining multiple CCTV recordings, footage captured by police photographers, and statements from eyewitnesses and injured personnel to identify those responsible for the violence.
Authorities indicated that additional FIRs could be registered as the investigation progresses.

Police also said facial recognition technology would be used to identify individuals allegedly involved in stone-pelting, vandalism, and attacks on security personnel. Given the extensive CCTV coverage in and around the Parliament Street area, officials believe they have substantial evidence to aid the investigation.
Investigators are also probing whether the protest was "hijacked" by outsiders. Police sources said the student-led demonstration had remained peaceful for nearly two weeks before violence broke out during Monday's march.
Officials maintained that protesters had been repeatedly advised not to assemble near Parliament Street Police Station or proceed towards Parliament, particularly as prohibitory orders were in force due to the ongoing Parliament session.
The situation deteriorated around 11:30 a.m., when clashes erupted between protesters and police. Several police personnel were reportedly injured, while public property was damaged during the confrontation.
Despite the crackdown, protests continued on Tuesday at Jantar Mantar. Around 300 demonstrators gathered at the original protest site, where volunteers reassembled a stage that had been dismantled by authorities following the previous day's events.

Heavy security remained deployed in the area, with personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Rapid Action Force (RAF) stationed at the site. Barricades were also being reinforced as a precautionary measure.
Protesters continued raising slogans against senior police officials whenever they entered the protest area, reflecting continued anger over the police action.
Meanwhile, political reactions to the developments continued to emerge. Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed support for the protesters. Earlier, Congress leader Pawan Khera had visited the protest site, while sources indicated that Sonia Gandhi had spoken about the protest and asked the party to extend its support even before activist Sonam Wangchuk was taken to hospital.
The Delhi Police investigation is ongoing, with authorities expected to register additional cases if further evidence emerges.
