New Delhi [India], June 28 : During the monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s growing capabilities in defence manufacturing, he said that the country is becoming increasingly secure and self-reliant “from the seas to the skies.”

The Prime Minister pointed out to the successful maiden flight of the Made in India C-295 aircraft in June, calling it a major milestone for India’s aviation sector. He said 40 C-295 aircraft are being manufactured in India, giving a boost to the aerospace industry, MSMEs and employment opportunities.

He also mentioned the induction of three indigenous naval platforms — INS Dunagiri, INS Sanshodhak and INS Agray, into the Indian Navy by noting that their design and manufacturing represent India’s growing defence capabilities.

PM Modi also highlighted the successful test of the indigenous Long-Range Land-Attack Cruise Missile developed by DRDO along with Indian industry partners.

He said such achievements show India’s progress in reducing dependence on foreign defence systems and strengthening the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The Prime Minister also spoke about public participation in nation-building, India’s achievements in yoga and sports, insurance awareness, environmental protection and preserving cultural heritage.

He urged citizens to continue supporting initiatives that strengthen the country and contribute to a more self-reliant India.
