New Delhi: The social media X (formerly Twitter) account of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a reactionary online party born after the viral cockroach remark by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant has been withheld.
In a post on X, Abhijeet Dipke who claims to be the founding president of the Cockroach Janta Party attached a screenshot and said, "As expected Cockroach Janta Party’s account has been withheld in India."
After the withdrawal of account, Abhijeet Dipke released a video urging social media users to question the account block. He indicated that the account was blocked because they were demanding resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over irregularities in the NEET examination, a medical course test for getting admission in MBBS.
Who is founder of CJP:

The Instagram account of Cockroach Janta Party version hit 11 million followers more than ruling BJP which has about 8.8 million followers. Right now X now shows Indian users a notice withholding the account due to a legal demand, while it's still visible elsewhere.

Reactions on social media:
Reacting to the blocking of the account, social media users termed it as censorship.
"Government has ordered suspension of Cockroach Janta Party's X account. Is this the free speech you have promised elonmusk," wrote a social media user.
Background:
While hearing a case a few days back, CJI Surya Kant said, "There are already parasites of society who attack the system and you want to join hands with them?"He further said, "There are youngsters like cockroaches, who don't get any employment or have any place in profession. Some of them become media, some of them become social media, RTI activists and other activists and they start attacking everyone."

Later, CJI clarifies that his statement was misquoted in the media. He said, "I am pained to read how a section of the media has misquoted my oral observations made during the hearing of a frivolous case yesterday. What I had specifically criticised were those who have entered professions like the Bar (legal profession) with the aid of fake and bogus degrees."
"Similar persons have sneaked into the media, social media, and other noble professions as well, and hence, they are like parasites. It is totally baseless to suggest that I criticised the youth of our nation. Not only am I proud of our present and future human resource, but every youth of India inspires me. It is not an exaggeration to say that Indian youth have great regard and respect for me, and I, too see them as the pillars of a developed India,” he added.
Ends.
