Deputy CM TR Zeliang inaugurates Peren District Planning Office

Addressing the inaugural programme, Zeliang described the new office as a significant milestone in strengthening governance and public service delivery in the district.

Peren (Nagaland), June 9: Nagaland's Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Planning and Transformation, TR Zeliang, today inaugurated the District Planning Office in Peren.

Addressing the inaugural programme, Zeliang described the new office as a significant milestone in strengthening governance and public service delivery in the district.

He expressed confidence that the office would play a key role in planning, coordinating and monitoring developmental programmes, while stressing the need for effective planning and judicious use of resources.

The Deputy Chief Minister also urged departments and implementing agencies to ensure quality execution of projects and timely completion of works.

He called for cooperation of all stakeholders to develop the New DC Headquarters into a thriving township that would serve as a hub of administration and public services.

In a post on X, CM wrote, "Delighted to have inaugurated the newly constructed District Planning Machinery, Peren, a significant addition to the administrative infrastructure of the district. The establishment of this office marks another step towards strengthening planning, coordination, and effective implementation of developmental initiatives in Peren."

"Subsequently, attended the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting, where we reviewed the resolutions and action points of the previous meeting and deliberated on a range of issues affecting the district. Constructive discussions were held on measures to accelerate development and address challenges confronting our people. We remain dedicated to ensuring sustained growth and progress for Peren District," CM wrote in his X post.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Peren, Hiazu Meru, called for greater cooperation among departments to accelerate growth and strengthen economic activities, particularly in the agriculture sector.
