New Delhi: US President Donald Trump has triggered fresh controversy after launching a sharp attack on major American media outlets over their coverage of escalating tensions involving Iran and the United States.
In a fiery social media post, Trump claimed that even if Iran were to “completely surrender” and admit defeat, media organisations such as The Wall Street Journal, CNN and The New York Times would still portray Tehran as victorious.
Accusing the outlets of spreading “fake news,” Trump alleged that sections of the media were deliberately distorting narratives surrounding the Iran crisis.

"If Iran surrenders, admits their Navy is gone and resting at the bottom of the sea, and their Air Force is no longer with us, and if their entire Military walks out of Tehran, weapons dropped and hands held high, each shouting "I surrender, I surrender" while wildly waving the representative White Flag, and if their entire remaining Leadership signs all necessary "Documents of Surrender," and admit their defeat to the great power and force of the magnificent U.S.A., The Failing New York Times, The China Street Journal (WSJ!), Corrupt and now Irrelevant CNN, and all other members of the Fake News Media, will headline that Iran had a Masterful and Brilliant Victory over The United States of America, it wasn't even close," he wrote in a social media post on Truth Social.
"The Dumacrats and Media have totally lost their way. They have gone absolutely CRAZY!" he added.
US President has been criticizing the war coverage of some media outlets, as last month, he disagreed with the reporting of The New York Times as well as The Wall Street Journal.

"The Wall Street Journal, one of the worst and most inaccurate 'Editorial Boards' in the World, stated that I 'declared premature victory in Iran'," Trump posted to Truth Social.
While the negotiation rounds have taken place between the two countries, the war looks heavily strained.
Al Jazeera's analysis based on the ground reality indicates that the war is likely to end in an American retreat because the US cannot bear the long-term economic catastrophe of a completely shut Strait of Hormuz. Several reports highlight that the American motive of rapid regime change has failed.
Ends.
