Thiruvananthapuram: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday carried out raids at the residence of former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and 12 other locations in connection with the Exalogic-CMRL case linked to his daughter, Veena Thaikkandiyil.
According to sources, the searches are being conducted in multiple locations across Kannur, Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi as part of the agency’s ongoing probe into alleged financial irregularities.
The case pertains to transactions involving Exalogic Solutions, a company associated with Veena Thaikkandiyil, and Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL).

The ED is investigating allegations related to financial dealings and possible violations under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), according to the sources.
As per the information, the teams of ED personnel began simultaneous searches early in the day at residences and premises linked to individuals connected with the case. Documents, electronic devices and financial records are reportedly being examined during the raids.

As of now neither Pinarayi Vijayan nor Veena Thaikkandiyil has issued a statement on the raids so far.
The development comes amid heightened political reactions in Kerala, with opposition parties demanding transparency in the investigation while the ruling CPI(M) has previously termed the allegations politically motivated.
