New Delhi: Mohammad Junaid who gained popularity for distributing food during the protest led by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar rejected reports of rift with the organisers.
Junaid, in a video, urged people not to pay attention to the viral claims, labeling them as "fake rumours."
He further added that the entire CJP team is with him.
On the other hand, CJP has claimed they are in constant contact with Junaid, that everything being said about him is false, and that he is receiving Full Legal Assistance from them.
In a post on X, CJP spokesperson and legal point of contact Ratna Singh said, “We urge everyone to stop spreading misinformation and hate. Whatever action took place at his residence was addressed promptly in the first instance.”
After the students protest ended on July 25, several social media users posted that the organizers have ignored Junaid who was managing food and water for protesters.

Junaid in the video said, “Some people want to defame our movement...I'm healthy and good and so is my family. All prayers are with me. The top leadership is with me. This is a conspiracy to spoil the movement."
Similarly, the CJP also dismissed the speculation. “All news and rumours regarding Mohammad Junaid are false. He is safe, is receiving all necessary legal assistance and was also present at our volunteers get-together for a while,”

According to the media reports, the day CJP ended its protest, the Uttar Pradesh Police detained Junaid for investigation.
According to Junaid's interview given to independent journalists, the police has seized the bank passbooks and PAN cards.
CJP has condemns the police action saying, “We condemn the illegal police crackdown against Junaid by the UP Police. We've been in regular touch with him and providing all necessary help from day 1.”
