New Delhi [India], June 30 : A Parliamentary panel is set to review the NEET UG 2026 re-examination and the reform measures being introduced in the National Testing Agency (NTA) on July 1.
The meeting will focus on the process followed during the re-examination, lessons learned, and whether further safety measures are needed to strengthen future national-level entrance exams.
The review comes after concerns were raised over the conduct of NEET and demands for stronger transparency and security in competitive examinations.
NTA Chief to Present Re-Exam Report
NTA Director General Abhishek Singh is scheduled to appear before the panel and present the outcomes as well as the key learnings from the June 21 re-examination.
The panel is expected to examine how effectively the re-exam was conducted, the challenges faced during the process, and whether additional safeguards should be introduced to prevent future issues.
Higher Education Secretary Vineet Joshi has also been asked to attend the meeting.
K Radhakrishnan Committee to Brief Panel on Reforms
Former ISRO chairman K Radhakrishnan, who heads the high-powered committee formed to oversee NTA reforms, will also brief the panel.
He is expected to present an update on the implementation of recommendations made after the NEET controversy and explain the progress of reforms aimed at improving examination systems.
The committee has been working on measures related to exam security, transparency, technology use, and reducing the possibility of errors in major entrance tests.
