New Delhi [India]: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Sunday advised Indian citizens not to commence the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra until all required travel documents are in hand.
The fresh directives came following cases of some pilgrims got stranded in Nepal due to insufficient documents.
Several Indian pilgrims travelling through private tour operators reached Nepal without securing the mandatory Chinese visa and Tibet travel permits, making them unable to continue their journey into China.
Before You Leave, Make Sure You Have:
A valid Indian passport
A valid Chinese visa
All mandatory permits required for travel to the Tibet Autonomous Region
Confirmed travel documents for the entire journey
Choose Your Tour Operator Carefully
The MEA has also urged pilgrims to book their trip only through registered and authorised tour operators. Verify the operator's credentials before making any payments or travel plans.
Do not commence your Kailash Mansarovar Yatra until all visas, permits, and travel documents have been issued and verified. Proper preparation will help ensure a safe, smooth, and hassle-free pilgrimage.
