New Delhi [India], June 22 : The investigation into the alleged irregularities related to donations received for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has intensified. As a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to examine the matter, including financial records, CCTV footage, and involvement of all the people connected with the temple trust and management.
Thus, the case has drawn public attention because of the large number of people linked to the investigation and now questions are being raised regarding transparency in the handling of donations.
Who Are Being Questioned?
Some of the people whose names have been mentioned in connection with the probe include:
Gopal Rao the construction assistant, associated with the temple trust and expected to be questioned by investigators.
Anil Mishra trustee of shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, linked with the trust and part of the inquiry.
Ram Shankar Yadav ( also reported as Tinnu Yadav ), linked to the temple administration also named in connection with the investigation.
Apart from trust related individuals, all the workers connected with banking and technology operations have also reportedly been questioned.
SBI and TCS Workers Questioned
Reports state that six employees/workers linked with SBI and TCS have been questioned as part of the investigation.
The inquiry is looking into possible issues related to donation collection systems, digital records, transaction processes, and technical handling.
CCTV Footage Missing: Why Are Questions Being Raised?
One of the major concerns being discussed is the issue of missing CCTV footage. Questions have been raised about whether CCTV recordings related to the period under investigation are available and whether any footage is missing.
While opposition leaders have argued that the absence of CCTV footage raises concerns about transparency and accountability.
Akhilesh Yadav Raises Questions on SIT Investigation
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav questioned the investigation process and said:
“Questions arise when CCTV footage goes missing. Will SIT be allowed to investigate in unbiased manner?”
His statement has added political pressure on the authorities to ensure that the probe remains independent and transparent.
SIT Guidelines During Investigation
Reports indicate that the SIT has issued guidelines for people connected with the investigation. Those being examined have reportedly been instructed not to leave Ayodhya until the inquiry process is completed.
The move is aimed to ensure an availability of individuals whenever the investigators require further questioning.
Will the SIT Investigation Be Impartial?
The formation of the SIT is intended to bring a structured investigation into the allegations. However, questions are being raised about whether the investigation will be allowed to function independently and examine all aspects without pressure or not.
Update: SIT Report Submitted
As per media reports, the SIT has submitted its report regarding the investigation. Further details about the findings and possible action are awaited.
Although, according to the sources: SIT has questioned more than 150 people so far, connected with different aspects of the case and 20-25 people are acccused of negligence and involvement.
However, the matter will continue to stay under public and political scrutiny as people await clarity on the investigation’s conclusions.
