New Delhi [India], June 29 : Amid the speculations of reshuffle or expansion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the weekly cabinet meeting on Wednesday morning.
The meeting is considered significant as media reports and several insiders are anticipating that multiple controversial faces of the Modi-government could be replaced. The reports say that many faces of the Modi-Govt will be shown doors.
However, despite the high speculations, sources deny the possibility of cabinet reshuffle at this moment.
They stated that there is no window because the Monsoon session of the parliament will commence from July.
The top sources have indicated that Prime Minister will interact with the cabinet and officials and discuss several major issues which were part of the discussions during his recent foreign visits.
Who Could Be Replaced?
Political discussions around the possible reshuffle have led to speculation about changes in key ministries. Some reports suggest that ministers facing criticism over performance, public image, or administrative challenges could be considered for replacement.
Names being discussed in political circles include ministers handling major portfolios where the government may look for fresh faces, stronger leadership, or improved coordination ahead of upcoming political and administrative challenges.
According to reports, the anticipated reshuffle could see some prominent faces exit the Union Cabinet. Names being discussed include Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri, as reports suggests that their positions could be reviewed.
However, government sources have denied the possibility of an immediate Cabinet reshuffle at this stage.
Focus on Reforms and Future Agenda
The Prime Minister’s schedule remains packed, with important engagements lined up. He is expected to focus on government priorities, reforms, and upcoming international engagements.
Earlier, on May 31, the Prime Minister had held a meeting with the Council of Ministers, where discussions were held on the roadmap for reforms and governance.
Following that, the weekly Cabinet meeting continues to take place every Wednesday. The focus this time is expected to be on important policy matters and government decisions.
Sources also suggest that upcoming diplomatic engagements, including discussions related to international visits and partnerships, will remain a priority.
