New Delhi [India]: Eight people were killed and several others are reported missing after thunderstorms and gale-force winds triggered by severe convective weather struck the eastern part of central China’s Hubei Province.
According to provincial emergency management authorities, thunderstorms, strong winds and tornadoes hit several cities yesterday evening.
In Huanggang, 275 people were injured, while more than 400 residents were shifted to safer locations. Rescue and relief operations are continuing.

Meanwhile, a landslide in Gansu Province has left several people missing. Authorities said 33 people were trapped, of whom 17 have been rescued, while search and rescue operations are continuing.
In another weather-related incident, torrential rains triggered by Typhoon Maysak caused flooding in Guangxi, claiming two lives and affecting around 55,000 people. Nearly 48,000 residents have been evacuated.
