New Delhi [India]: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red colour warning for very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rainfall over Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim for today.
The Met Department has said that conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the next two to three days.
Heavy rainfall to very heavy rainfall is also expected over parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Kerala and Mahe for the next two days, reported Prasar Bharati.
According to IMD, places over Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha and Coastal Andhra Pradesh are expected to experience heavy rainfall for the next three days.

Similar conditions are expected over Coastal Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Telangana and Vidarbha till Thursday.
The Met Department has predicted thunderstorms and lightning over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, East Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh till tomorrow.
Meanwhile, heat wave conditions are likely to prevail over Delhi, Bihar, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh till tomorrow.
