Jakarta [Indonesia]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Monday unveiled an ambitious roadmap to expand the India-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The two leaders oversaw the exchange of 14 agreements and announced six new initiatives covering defence, trade, technology, education, agriculture and cultural cooperation.
The outcomes came during Prime Minister Modi's official visit to Indonesia, the first leg of his three-nation tour that also includes Australia and New Zealand. Modi is visiting Indonesia at the invitation of President Prabowo Subianto.
The two countries extended their Framework Agreement on Cooperation in the Exploration and Uses of Outer Space for Peaceful Purposes.

The move will strengthen collaboration in space research and peaceful applications of space technology.
India's Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) and Indonesia's National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) signed an agreement on medical products regulation. The pact will promote cooperation in regulatory practices and improve access to safe and quality medical products.
The two sides signed an agreement on cooperation in minerals and the steel supply chain. The partnership aims to build resilient supply chains and strengthen industrial cooperation.
An MoU on agriculture and allied sectors was also signed. It seeks to enhance collaboration in crop production, agricultural research, capacity building and sustainable farming practices.
India and Indonesia also extended their maritime safety and security cooperation agreement. The extension will deepen coordination in maritime domain awareness, search and rescue, and coastal security.
The National Disaster Management Authority of India and Indonesia's National Agency for Disaster Management signed an agreement to enhance cooperation in disaster preparedness, response and capacity building.

The two countries signed an MoU on telecommunications technologies and services. It will support cooperation in digital connectivity, emerging communication technologies and policy exchanges.
Another agreement focuses on research, technology and innovation. It is expected to promote joint research projects and scientific collaboration.
The two sides also concluded an implementation agreement on health workforce collaboration. It aims to facilitate training, skill development and professional exchanges in the health sector.
India's Election Commission and Indonesia's General Elections Commission signed an MoU to strengthen cooperation in election management. The agreement provides for the exchange of best practices and institutional knowledge.
Defence cooperation received a major boost. The two countries agreed to cooperate on the BrahMos missile system. They also signed an agreement on air-to-air missile cooperation.
In the industrial sector, the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and PT Krakatau Steel agreed to establish a stainless-steel slab manufacturing facility in Indonesia through a strategic joint venture. The project is expected to strengthen regional manufacturing and industrial ties.
Another agreement was signed between the Non-Ferrous Materials Technology Development Centre, Midwest Limited and PT PERMINAS for the development of rare earth magnets. The partnership aims to support advanced manufacturing and critical mineral value chains.
The two leaders also announced several new initiatives. India will assist in the conservation and restoration of the historic Prambanan Temple Complex in Yogyakarta. Indonesia will deploy a Liaison Officer at the Information Fusion Centre-Indian Ocean Region to strengthen maritime cooperation.
India will supply 100 tonnes of high-quality DWR 162 wheat seeds to Indonesia to support agricultural cooperation. The two countries will also commemorate the "Tagore-Dewantara Year of Cultural and Educational Diplomacy" to celebrate their shared cultural heritage.
An Indian Institute of Management Bangalore branch campus will be established at the Singhasari Special Economic Zone in Indonesia. The initiative is expected to deepen academic and management education links.
The two sides also announced the launch of the Indonesia Open Network (ION). The platform will be based on India's Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) architecture and is expected to support digital trade and innovation.

Prime Minister Modi is on a three-day official visit to Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. The visit is aimed at strengthening India's engagement with key partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
