Maharashtra, June 18 : A fresh political crisis has emerged within the Shiv Sena (UBT) camp as six rebel MPs have reportedly moved to form a separate group in the Lok Sabha. The MPs met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, claiming support from six members of the party’s nine Lok Sabha MPs, according to sources.
Amid the ongoing developments, security cover for the six MPs has been increased following concerns over possible threats. The move comes as speculation grows over their next political step and their expected meeting with Eknath Shinde on Saturday.
However, the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction has raised objections before the Speaker, while the rebel group is seeking recognition as a separate entity in Parliament. The situation remains fluid as both sides continue efforts to strengthen their positions.
