New Delhi: After sixth round of talks between the Jharkhand government and the protesting students, the situation has improved significantly, but seemingly the deadlock still remains unresolved.
And this is amid the ongoing talks that Rachi is bracing for the protest march to the Assembly today.
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) led Hemant Soren Government has announced several measures to address the concerns of the protesting students. The state government has even proposed cancelling three exams.
These include the 14th JPSC preliminary examination, as well as the JPSC backlog examinations held in 2023 and 2025.
Why Students are protesting in Jharkhand's capital Ranchi?
Collage students and those preparing for various state-level competitive exams have gathered in Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi from July 25.
Students are demanding Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation and other investigative probes in state level exams such as Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), Combined Civil Services Examination, the Jharkhand General Graduate-level Combined Competitive Examination (JSSC-CGL) .
The JSSC-CGL exam is conducted by various agencies of the Jharkhand govt to hire graduates for various Group-C and Group-B administrative, auditing, and secretariat jobs in departments of the Jharkhand government.

Students-Govt talks update
After the talks, Jharkhand Minister Sudivya Kumar said that the dialogue has been positive, while adding that a fast-track court will also be set up to deal with cases linked to exam irregularities.
Minister went on to say that chart sheets will be filed within 90 days' time.
Student leader said the government has accepted most of their demands related to reforms, while there are still a couple of issues where there is no agreement. And one of them is CBI investigation into the alleged irregularities.
However, the Hemant Soren government has agreed to set up a panel headed by a retired High Court judge.
Jharkhand police on Sunday said that it had worked on the deployment and that it is prepared for the planned assembly march by students in Ranchi today.
The police also assured that protesters would not face action if the demonstration remained peaceful.

Additionally, Ranchi police said that adequate security measures are in place, as large number of students are expected to join the protest march to the assembly.
Ahead of appearing for summons by the CID, three members of the JPSCPT exam have resigned from their posts.
The members who gave the resignation to the governor are Ajita Bhattacharya, Dr. Anima Hansda and Jamal Jamal Ahmed.
