Noida: Relentless rainfall over the past 24 hours has brought large parts of Noida and the wider Delhi-NCR region to a standstill, with widespread waterlogging, traffic congestion, and disruption to daily life.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast up to 200 mm of rainfall in the Noida region, warning that heavy showers are likely to continue over the next few hours.
Several areas across Noida witnessed severe water accumulation after intense rainfall since early morning.

Visuals from affected localities showed vehicles stranded in flooded streets, with one car getting stuck near the entrance of a residential society. In another instance, a hut was seen almost completely submerged due to the rising water level.
The heavy rain also caused significant traffic disruptions, with commuters enduring long delays during the morning rush hour. Residents reported that journeys of just 10 kilometres took between one and two hours as waterlogged roads and slow-moving traffic created bottlenecks across the city.
High-rise residential societies in Noida and Greater Noida were among the worst affected. Water entered the basements of several apartment complexes, flooding parking areas and leaving many residents unable to access their vehicles.
Authorities have advised people to remain indoors unless travel is absolutely necessary, as more rainfall is expected. Schools and colleges in the region have also issued advisories announcing a one-day closure, with officials stating that further decisions will be taken based on the weather situation.
While waterlogging has also been reported from parts of Delhi-NCR, traffic conditions in Gurugram were comparatively better than those in Noida, according to ground reports.
With the IMD predicting continued heavy rainfall, civic agencies remain on alert as efforts continue to clear waterlogged roads and restore normalcy across affected areas.
